3rd Vice Commodore

The Third Vice Commodore is a member of CSC's Executive Committee, responsible for maintenance of the keelboat fleet.

Official Duties

From the Club's bylaws, section 2:

  • (e) Third Vice Commodore:

The Third Vice Commodore shall be responsible for the maintenance, modification, and repair of club keelboat and cruising equipment and the organization and direction of the labor necessary to accomplish the above purposes. This officer shall be responsible for the maintenance of a responsible inventory of spare parts and shall be an authorized purchasing agent for the club.

How you can help

Keelboat maintenance and repair is a large amount of work, and the 3rd Vice Commodore cannot do it alone. Keeping our fleet sailing depends on the efforts of many club members who volunteer their time to do work on the boats.

Each keelboat should have a Boat Captain, appointed by the 3rd Vice Commodore, who is responsible for regularly inspecting the boat for maintenance issues, keeping the 3rd Vice informed about problems, and knowing and communicating with the boat's regular users.
