Modifications to Hunter 146's at CSC 9/20/07
Rubrail around hull has been reinforced by filling the gap between it and hull with Eclectic Products 6800; Hobie Baby Bob masthead float; (by dealer, Sailing Obsession, Visalia)
Bow bumper: 4" 3/4-round gunnel gard bumper glued to bow with Life Seal, held in place with #10 screws; 1-1/2" 1/2-round gunnel gard bumper tied to rubrail at bow with line through holes drilled through rubrail flange.
Reinforced rudder: aluminum gudgeons, Hunter 170 cheekplates (thicker than standard 146 cheekplates) cut and drilled to fit.
Jiffy reefing: line from boom to reef clew, back to cheek block on side of boom, forward to cleat on side of boom; cunningham padeye and cleat on sides of mast
Diamond stays on mast: custom fabricated spreaders (two 14" long 3/4" diameter tubes fiberglassed to a piece of an old mast) jammed onto mast, with stays to reinforce mast against bending in violent capsizes
Anchor: tied to bow cleat, loose in forward end of cockpit (plan: anchor box)
Handhold for reboarding: line tied to stern cleats, leading across stern just forward of boarding platform (plan: put non-skid on platform)
Sailfeed cover plate: 1" x 4" aluminum plate to keep sail slugs in mast
