CSC's Capri 25 keelboat, "Pomodoro" was acquired in July '06. This is the red-hulled boat berthed at the end of J dock.

The Capri 25 was purchased with grant funds from the California Department of Boating and Waterways. The designated purpose of the grant funds is for teaching boating safety. It's frequently used for lessons, as well as Open House rides, cruises, and other club activities.

For info on this boat's design, see http://www.catalina-capri-25s.org/manbro/Capri25Review.pdf The same site also has factory drawings of the layup, rig, etc.

CSC's boat is set up specifically for our program. All of the interior benches and cushions have been removed to reduce clutter and the potential for mildew. Thanks to Gary Bauer, there's a complete electrical system with VHF radio and 120V outlet for a heater to drive off the damp.

Peter Kuhn is the Boat Captain for the Capri 25.

The following work needs to be completed on this boat:

  • Install a backing plate and nuts on the bolts holding the bow cleats to the deck (may have been completed)
  • Mount the VHF radio under the cabin coaming
  • Install secondary flotation.
