Rolled gelcoat nonskid
From CSCWiki
Clean and wash deck first. Gelcoat needs a couple nice hot days over 70 degrees to properly cure for 48 hours.
The best gelcoat to use is the West Marine finishing brand which includes wax which floats up to the surface to seal the gelcoat from air. Gelcoat will not cure when exposed to air. Otherwise you have to lightly spray PVA all over.
Tape everything. Gelcoat likes to splatter when rolled. Wear disposable gloves.
Mix gelcoat with Colloidal Silica to thicken it. West Systems 406 works well. One part colloidal silica for every two parts of gelcoat by volume. Divide mixture into smaller batches. Add hardener (4 drops for every ounce) to one of the batches and mix well. It is better to add more hardener than less. Gelcoat will start to harden in under 30 minutes. Paint deck with the gelcoat using a brush to prevent splattering. Use a textured roller over brushed area to create a stucco texture. Clean up any drips immediately with acetone before gelcoat hardens.
Repeat for other batches..
