OFFICER REPORTS

Third Vice: The keelboat storage shed is coming along well.

Port Captain: We need VDL’s for Wednesday through Saturday of this coming week! Two new Volunteer Day Leaders have been trained (John Bergman and David Cuban) in anticipation of Day Leaders leaving for winter break. We agree that Lydia is a strong candidate to replace Sophie when she steps down. Lydia said she will be meeting with Sophie to prepare for this.

Rear Commodore: The winter study groups are shaping up. Right now we have 4-5 people for the Cruise Study Group, and we have a coordinator for that.  There are 10 people signed up for the Senior Study Group and we are still looking for someone to coordinate it. Participation is filling out and both groups are set to happen.

Secretary: Several members of Excomm, including myself, the First Vices, and our Co-commodores, are currently working on this year’s DBW Aquatic Center Grant. The deadline is coming up soon, on December 2nd, so we’re working hard to finish it up.

Treasurer:

As of November 20 we had $15,972 in the bank, down $461 from last Treasurer’s report for 11/2/16 meeting.  We’re expecting $40,000 from DBW as reimbursement for RS Quests and windsurf boards and sails purchased under our grant this year.

Stella recommends that we add another $10,000 to the dinghy and rescue skiff budget, because a) the dinghsters have already used the $5,000 added 11/2/16 and b) Mercury Marine has refused to provide a repair under warranty for the skiff motor that failed early this month.  The motor chair says they’ll try to get Mercury Marine to cover the motor, and that they will try to make a frankenmotor out of the parts, but since the holidaze are coming, it’s prolly best to approve the money now, in case it’s needed, so we have two operable Whaler skiffs.
